He was the son of Wong Lee, a doctor in Havelock North. DEATH OF WONG LEE. THE INQUEST The coronial enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death ,of Wong Lee was held by Mr. S. E. McCarthy (District Coroner) at the Hastings Council Chambers yesterday afternoon. Alice Maud Wong Lee. wife of deceased, gave evidence that her husbaud was a native of Canton (China) and was about 56 years of age. He returned home from Clive about 6.15 on Monday evening, and after having tea. went to bed. Shortly after he commenced coughing. Went to see what was the matter. and deceased said he was choking. and had pains in his stomach. Telephoned for Dr. Wilson, but her I husband died before the doctor arrived. H M. Wilson, medical practitioner, deposed that he saw deceased about 8.30 p.m. on Monday. Had performed a post mortem examination and found inflammation of the pericardium or outer liningof the heart, with some fluid. Death I was due to pericarditis, aggravated by a distended stomach pressing on the heart. A verdict was returned in accordance with the medical evidence.
