ALLEGED MURDER. December 6. Coolie 5551, otherwise Chan Sang, was charged with murder. This case is one of three which arose out of the murder of two girls at Lotopa in October, 1927. Accused while awaiting trial escaped from custody and kept to the bush for many months, but eventually surrendered him* self for trial. He was defended by Mr Klinkmneller. Mr McCarthy conducted the case for the Crown. The assessors sitting with the Chief Judge were Messrs V. L. Greenwood, H. S. Jones, R. D. Croudace and A. Williams.
