CHINESE IN SAMOA.
I was very grieved to read ill the newspapers lately that some of my countrymen were causing some trouble in Samoa by their association with the natives. Why mention Samoa only? In Hongkong and Macau many foreigners'have married Chinese girls, while in my own city, Kongmoon Pakkai, I know of at least seven foreigners who have married (or pretended to marry) Chinese girls and who have left them and their babies behind when they have gone back to their own countries, These people who single out the Chinese in Samoa for censure are like those mentioned in the Bible—Matthew, vii. 3. First cast the beam out of our own eye* before we can pluck the mote from our brother's eyes. Y, S. CHAn. CHINESE IN SAMOA. AUCKLAND STAR, VOLUME LXIII, ISSUE 109, 10 MAY 1932
