On resuming its sittings yesterday morning the Supreme Court continued to hear lengthy evidence in the case in which William Henry Dunphy was charged with burglary and assault. Mr. Justice Sim presided, and the Courthouse was again crowded. Mr. Nesbitt acted as interpreter of the evidence of the Chinamen called. Yep Chun, Ah Sing, Di Shi and Joe Long gave similar evidence to that already published from the lower court. Harry Ah Long, butcher's assistant, who had resided at Chow Hing's for the past twelve months, said he knocked off work at about 9.30 on the •Saturday night, calling at Webster's" i-and Chow Fong's fruit shop on his ,way home. He reached Chow Hing's about 9.4.0 and on going to the front door found it locked. This was unusual, as the gas was still burning in j the shop. On going to the back door he found it locked this door was gen- erally locked. Witness had a key, and j went, into the kitchen, locking the back door after him and putting the key in his pocket. The kitchen was 1 in darkness. There was a light in the 1 sitting room, from where witness heard a noise as of feet moving. On going into the shop, he heard moans. and called out in Chinese: "What's up? He was then near the office door. The only reply to his .question was three further moans.
