OBITUARY. MR. C. D. AH CHEE. The death has occurred in Canton, China, of a well-known Chinese merchant, Mr. Chang Dat Ah Chee, founder of a large Auckland fruit retailing and merchandise business. Mr. Ah Chee was born in China 80 years ago and came to Auckland in 1880, establishing himself as a shopkeeper and importer. For about forty years he successfully controlled the business, retiring in 1920 in favour of his sons, the late Mr. William Ah Chee and Mr. Clement Ah Chee, the present managing director. Mr. Ah Chee,. prior to his return to China, was a member of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church, Remuera, and an ardent worker for ths welfare of Chinese resident in Auckland. He is survived by his wife and one son. There are 12 grandchildren, ten of whom live in Auckland, and one great grandchild.OBITUARY.
