DEATH OF A CHINESE. WOUND BECOMES SEPTIC. AMPUTATION DECLINED. [BY. TELEGRAPH. CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Tuesday; The Chinese, Lowe Foong, who received injuries to. his leg while driving a cart between some trucks at the Hamilton railway yards- on October 31, died at the Waikato Hospital yesterday. An inquest was held, and medical evidence was given that gangrene set',; in. The hospital authorities wished to amputate the leg at the knee, but the, relatives of deceased refused to permit this. The coroner returned a verdict that deceased died of septic poisoning, the result of injuries received through his leg being crushed.
