Yok Kuang TAN
TAN, Yok Kuang. On July 8, 2013, passed away peacefully at Sarah Selwyn Hospital, aged 91 years. Yok was a loving husband to Pearl Tan, who passed away two years ago. He was a devoted father to Mei and Sze, and an affectionate father-in-law to David Upsdell. As a fond grandfather to Lian and Shanxi (and grandfather-in-law to Ife Omoniyi), he set an example of faithfulness and love of learning in everything that he encountered in this life. He became a great-grandfather to Adiella Omoniyi, who was born just two months ago. He was a dedicated physician and radiation oncologist throughout his working life, well regarded by colleagues and patients alike. "...Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" (Matthew 25:21) A service will be held at the North Harbour Chapel of Dil's Funeral Services, 185 Schnapper Rock Road, Albany on Tuesday, July 16 at 10:30 am. The family would like to thank the staff of Caswell House and Sarah Selwyn Hospital for the exemplary care and support that Yok received during the last two years. In lieu of flowers, donations (tax-deductible) to The Chief Executive The Selwyn Foundation National Office PO Box 44 106 Pt. Chevalier Auckland 1022, would be appreciated. Please include a note signifying that the donation is in remembrance of Yok Tan.
