SHOT BY A CHINAMAN.
SENSATIONAL AFFAIR IN INVERCARGILL,
'Invercargill, Thursday,
A sensational affair occurred here about midnight, Hector Morrison, aged 20, being shot eead by a Chinaman named Lock Kin, who keeps a boarding-house in Leet Street. The Chinese had been subjected to frequent annoyance by larrikins, and had sent for police assistance last night,' When a constable arrived he found Morrison lying dead in a pool of blood on the footpath. It wfis. stated that after the door hall been battered and two windows broken the accused went out with a gun and fired to scare the intruders, not seeing Morrison. Accused was before the Court to-day, charged with murder. He was remanded to a later date
