Willie Tan has forwarded the following letter to tho Chairman of the Citizens' Gift Committee : — "Dear Sir : On behalf of the local Chinese, I wislh to extend to the New .Zealand Government out of sympathy m the present war that has been forced upon the British Empire by a. hostile nation.
