Director heads up Rotary - Airport company director and former Board chairman, Rodney Wong takes up the position of Governor of Rotary International District 9940 early next month. Rotary's District 9940 incorporates some 62 Rotary clubs in the lower half of the North Island, south from Taranaki, the central plateau and Tararua to Wellington.
Mr Wong has been an active member of the Awapuni Rotary club in Palmerston North since 1993. During the year leading up to the District Governor position he has visited clubs extensively and supported numerous Rotary projects.
He is a graduate of Otago University with majors in plant biochemistry and human physiology.
The majority of Mr Wong's career has been in the NZ dairy industry where, latterly, he was CEO of International Fine Foods (Yoplait) where he was also one of the owners for a number of years.
Among other business interests, he is currently Managing Director of Conzept Engineering Solutions Ltd, John N Couchman Ltd, Stargate Investments Ltd, and a director of Visual Footprints Ltd, Te Manawa Museum trust, and the airport company.
Mr Wong has been a director of Palmerston North Airport Ltd since 1999.
