Christchdrcu, April 26 A brutal assualt was committed on a Chinaman to day named Lee Chong, proprietor of a laundry. Shortly before 10 30 o'clock two men entered his shop at the front door. Lte Chong carre to ascertain their requirements whin on?man struck him a heavy blow on the head with a blunt instrument. Chong, who wis alone in the shop, was knocked senseless and his assailant* then ransacked the premises. They stole ?3 in money and got away uninterrupted.
