We have just met and starting to get to know each other. It has been enjoyable chatting with you. You have a good sense of humour and is very candid with your sharing.
We really enjoyed our fellowship at the last dinner we had with David , Chris and Caroline. You complemented her Korean cuisine with your chap jae. We got home at the stroke of midnight and that was very unusual for us. Guess we all forgot about the time when we were having so much fun.
You were so peaceful in the last few days and fought the good fight well with your darling beside you.
We are going to miss you and look forward to seeing you again.

Dear Moni
I don't remember when we got close together but probably when you were diagnosed with cancer 8 years ago.
You gave me a butterly pendant for my birthday many years ago and that followed by many pieces of beautifully made jewelry that you made. I enjoyed our shopping trips together and how you were so excited when you found something beautiful or a bargain. You were full of enthusiasm and energy when it comes to shopping even supermarket shopping!
You always do things that showed how much you care about your friends. You would pick up dumplings from Brooklyn and delivered to friends from Karori to Tawa so that they all can enjoyed it fresh.
I will miss your smile, the way you tell a joke, how you describe something beautiful, your excitement when I turned up at your house. I will miss our yarn over a cup of tea, sharing a tea bag, after a hard day at work. I will miss your advice and your non judgmental opinion.
Your friend forever

Dear Monica,
I was just getting to know you better and looked forward to having many more years to get to know each other more. I was going to ask you to join me up the coast in the New Year, which we both enjoy, having Wonton soup, looking at the shops and not forgetting the Op shops that you love. Little did I realise that your life would be cut short whilst we were away.
My sister in Christ, the Op shops up there in heaven will pale in the splendour. You have gone to a better place and have all of your questions answered without asking. Enjoy yourself!
Blessings,
Caroline & Chris

Dear Monica,
You were more than my bestie, more like my extended family in NZ.
I felt we hit it off years ago when you and Dave started dating. We initially bonded because we were both from Penang. Later it was because of our love of bling and shopping. Recently, we had settled into a routine where I would pop in on Saturday every few weeks to admire the latest jewellery pieces you created (you’re so talented) and we would chat about anything and everything. Often times we would laugh and be amazed that our outlook on life was so similar.
Remember years ago, when you wanted me to help you inject yourself in the stomach? I was so nervous and the needle was shaking so much that you got fed up waiting, ripped the syringe off me and jabbed your own tummy. I almost fainted. That's when I knew you were the brave one.
Your sudden passing is a real loss and I will miss you greatly but I know you would want us to be strong and to look after one another because you’re not here to do that.
Thank you Moni for being the most wonderful friend. The world won’t be the same now.
Yvonne
