Per Press Association, Auckland, Oct 7. A Chinese restaurant keeper in the city was fined the maximum penalty of L 5 and costs for neglecting to clean his yard. The magistrate expressed his regret that the law did not provide for imprisonment for such cases. The Health Officer staled that eighteen receptacles for vegetable and restaurant refuse were in the yard, which was ankle deep in refuse.
