Many records held at Archives NZ are digitised and can be viewed online on Archway for free You can tell if a record has been digitised if it says either ‘view or download digitised record‘ or ‘record online available’ Take note that though the record might be listed as restricted access, this only refers to the original physical record not the digital copy To open this record click on the link Then click on the name of the record A new window will open where you can view the digitised file Click the image numbers to view the pages of file Zoom in and out using the magnifying buttons at the top You can also download the file using the arrow button, and print it using the print button. Each page must be downloaded or printed separately Some files are also available as PDFs. To open these, click on ‘Derivative Copy’ near the bottom of the page Click on table of contents, and then on PDF Here you can scroll through the file and download it as a PDF For more information visit our website at archives.govt.nz
