Dear Paul,
Your passing away is the end of an era. You became our GP when we came to live in Hataitai more than 40 years ago. You still had the small practice at the side of a Moxham Ave house.
That is a long time ago now, so long that "house visits" were still an every day event! I remember one of our, still young, sons having a high temperature and a sore tummy, you came to our house to look at him... It was just constipation and I as a mother felt rather silly to have wasted your time. Your comment when I apologized was, "Next time ring me again!"
Thank you for all the years of service and for leaving us in the capable hands of Phillip and Janice and their "crew".
Our thoughts are with Mona and your family, we wish them strength in this difficult time.
Goodbye dear friend, Pieter and Maria van Driel Jocelyn Choong 21/05/2013

Dear Aunty Mona, Cheryl, Philip and Family,
It's been over 15 years since I last saw you all but I have fond memories of Uncle Paul and the huge respect for him as our Family Doctor, as a Husband and Father. Indeed, there were times he felt like a second father to me talking to me and giving me advice and guidance. He was a role model to whom I aspired.
My heart goes out to you during this sad time.

Dear Mona and family,
Very sorry to hear of Paul's passing, Andrea and I have fond memories of our friendship not only with Paul but with you Mona and the whole family. We are of course also very grateful for Paul's professional services over the years. As others have said, he was caring and compassionate and always found the time to talk.
I will remember too visiting the surgery and stopping in the driveway to look over his latest car purchase and then having a quick chat like a couple of school boys about all the latest features and specs.
Please accept our condolences and our thoughts were with you all on Wednesday, sorry we could not make it to Wellington.
Andrew and Andrea
