CHARGE AGAINST CHINESE.
LIVING WITH MAORI GIRLS. OFFER OF MARRIAGE. Wong Koon Fee, aged 21, pleaded not guilty in the Supreme Court to-day to a serious offence against a Maori girl of 15 years and four months. Mr. Paterson, who prosecuted for the Crown, said this was a case in which two Maori girls had been living with two Chinese men, all four sleeping in the same bed.
The girl, giving evidence, said the accused had asked her to marry him, and she said she was agreeable. Accused' and another Chinaman lived at the house where witness and her sister lived with their parents. The case is proceeding. Auckland Star, Volume LVIII, Issue 177, 29 July 1927, Page 9
