On Thursday Mr Jas. Brown, Mayor of this town, received a congratulatory letter from Hong Kong, written in excellent English and signed by Wong Quin Kee, our local Chinese storekeeper who is at present on a visit to his Native land. A unique ceremony was performed in St. Mark's Church, Carterton, a tew days ago, when the infant daughter of Mr W. Quin Kee, a local Chinese storekeeper, was christened, the name given being Eva Wong. Wairarapa Daily Times, Volume LXI, Issue 9662, 21 September 1909, Page 6
