NOVICE BANTAM WEIGHTS. W .New (Hawera 8.0 v. J. Wing Kee (Midhirst) 8.3. Round 1: Wing Kee did most of the leading, but New landed quite as frequently and with as much effect, and honors were about even. This, round was fairly quiet. Round 2: Wing Kee waded in with the evident intention of finishing off !ijs opponent, but the Hawera lad took his gruel well and replied in kind. At the end of the round ho was going the stronger and landed more frequently. This round produced much enthusiasm. Round 3: Another excellent display of fast and willing work. New's straight ones with eith.er hand hardly ever failed to connect and a decision in his favor was never in doubt. The winner received a great ovation. The I loser, also, took what came to him well, and this bout was a really exciting one. Hawera & Normanby Star, Volume LXV, 15 May 1913, Page 3
