Mutilating a . Cow.—Ah Moon, Ah Ching, Men Ken, Ah Yum, Ah Chew, Ah Chong, Ah Boy, aud Ah Yuk were again charged with having, at Kingsland, mutilated two cows, the property of William Freeney. These prisoners were previously brought before ' the Court on this charge, and dismissed after tho evidence .had been - taken before Messrs W. Duncan aud H. Wilding, Justices.— Sergeant-Major Pratt said lie wished the Bench to understand that the prisoners wero arrested upon warrant by the police, but at the same time it was not a police prosecution, as they had nothing to do with it beyond executiug the warrant.—Mr G. N. Brassey said that he appeared on behalf of tho prosecution.—Mr S. He.koth said ho appeared for the defendants, and pleaded not guilty.— Mr Brassey said that he had agreed with Mr Hesketh that the case should bo remanded until next Wednesday on the understanding that if the defence wished' a further remand for a week it should be granted.—Tho Beach remanded the prisoners until next Wednesday and enlarged the bail.
