There is usually a big demand'for Chinese si.ks at this season of '.'■ the year, aj.d there is no one doing a bister business in ' that particular, direction than Lum Ree and Co., of Marton. Charlie., the well-known proprietor ,has just opened up - a , fine range, and he is selling the silk at a cheap rate. Lum Keee and Co. specialise in fruits and Umstnas novelties, and we can heartitv recommend our many readers in Marton and surrounding districts to make a. certainty of calling W Lum Kee and Co. for either finest Chinese silk or the. hne-tof seasonable fruits. The hrm stands out conspicuously as one ot the very best, and it is no wonder that hundreds of people of Rangitikei will shop at no other place than Lum Kees, because of Charlie's courtesy, liberality and trustworthiness in giving full value for money received. CHARLIE LUM KEE.
Charlie Lum Kee sounds like a medley of English and Chinese, and so it is. Lum Kee is the name of the firm that does the business of grocer and fruiterer next to Abraham and Williams, Ltd., Broadway, Marton; but Charlie is greater than Lum Kee. He is " the one," and a better or more conscientious fruiterer than Charlie never handed oranges or applies over a counter. It is simply because he is so straight and gives everyone a fair deal that his fine shop has become a rendezvous for both town and country people who are seeking the freshest of fruit, vegetables or confections.. In addition to the business of a fruit dispenser, Charlie sells genuine Chinese silks and in this line of business he has clients from Wanganui and other places. Lum Kee also wishes it to be perfectly understood that he is in no way connected with the business carried on by another Chinaman further up Broadway. He hag got one shop only, and to this both he and his esteemed wife devote the whole of their attention. Lum Kee's advertisement concerning Xmas fruits, etc., appears elsewhere.
