Robbery With Violence Strangles Grant for Sentence. (From "Truth's" Dunedin Rep.) Last week at the Magistrate's Court, Invercargill, William •sHenry Grant '(alias Penham, alias Walker, alias Hill), was charged with robbing Ah Chu of the sum of £02, and a silver watch, valued at. £6; and with using violence to Ah Chu. The court-room was thronged. Juno 16 last was the .date of the occurrence. Dr. Wilson «aid he saw the Chinaman m hospital at 9 p.m. on June 16. He was sitting up m bed gasping for breath, and bleeding from a wound, m the forehead and from the mouth. His countenance -was almost black from want of air. The whole face was very much swollen. Witness could scarcely open the- patient's eyes. His lips were swollen to twice their usual size, and the whole neck was swollen.
