Last evening Mr Sing Lee Choug and the Chinese residents of this city ontortained a number of citizens at a dinner in honour of the Chinese New Year, which commenced on Tuesday, the 2nd inst., and continues until the 15th iust. A number of toasts were honoured, Mr Willie Hork acting as interpreter. The Chinese brieily responded, and the meeting broke up about 10 p.m. with three cheers lor the Chinese of Nelson by those present. Several well-known residents were among the guests.
