Carterton, April 30. On Saturday night John Allen, a young man nineteen years of age, while under the influence of liquor, threw a stone at a Chinese fruiterer named Chong Fong, with whom he had an argument. The Chinaman was wounded in the forehead. Allen this morning was fined 40s, in default fourteen days' imprisonment, and bound over to keep the peace for six months.
