EKETAHUNA, this day. A fire occurred in Main street at 5.30 a.m. on Sunday. It destroyed Turner and Co.'s butcher's shop - and contents, and Mrs Wolfe's stationery shop and contents. It also badly damaged a shop occupied by Wah Kee, fruiterer, and owned by A. H. Herbert, and an empty shop owned by C. C. Turner. The recently installed high pressure water supply was instrumental in checking the further spread of the fire. The insurances were : Wolfe's stock and contents, £375; Turnerr and Co.'s machinery and fittings, £200 -. buildings owned by C. C.
