This book travels through each major region where there were communities of Chinese market gardeners. In the growers own words, the book presents their stories, their experiences and their thoughts on the life of a grower. Entry describes the Wun Loy Cafe in Hobson Street, Auckland, which was established in 1969 by Wong Heung and his wife Yuk Wun. It became a popular eating place for Chinese growers on Sunday evenings after delivering their produce to the city markets in Custom Street West. With a photo of Pukekohe growers Colin Sue and Jackie Young outside the cafe, 2006. Includes portrait.
