CHINESE RESIDENTS' GIFT.
When it was decided to hold the All Nations' Fair for the Sick and Wounded Fund of the Manawatu Patriotic Society, the Mayor suggested to Mr Joe Kwong Lee that the Chinese residents should provido a fruit stall at- the show. To-day the Mayoress received a cheque for £27 17s from the Chinese Association of Palmerston towards the funds, and she desires to acknowledge the contribution with thanks. The following subscribed to the fund: Joe Kwong Lee and Co. £3 3s, Hum Kee £2 2s, Joe Kwong Shang Lee £5, Joe Nam Leo, Joe lling Sing, Sin Leo, Joe Jam, Sam Lee, Wong Hop £1 l;s each, Kew Kong 10s bd, Lai Sang Tuck, Dun Chan, Joe Lung Choc, Louis Sang, Joo Khun. Beck Fun, Ng Sik Lum 10s each. Tarn She ('lain 6s, Tser Gen. Shcr Poye, Yuen Cliee, Joe Ng, Joe Sue, Yue Gen, Sun Ning. Yep Chen.
