Sale of Crown Land at Lawrence.
At the sale of Crown lands held at Lawrence on Friday there was a fair attendance, and bidding was exceedingly brisk for some of the lots offered. The aections were offered in the order in which they appeared in the advertisement published in the Daily Times, and the. following is a list of those sold and the prices they brought

One of the attractions of the sale was the land and buildings known as the Chinese Camp (including the Chinese Joas-heuse). Mr Martin intimated that unless the land were purchased at the valuation for improvements, ft would be withdrawn. This induced the Chinese to secure their freeholds. The following were the purchasers
