On Sunday afternoon Constable Fitz- Patrick recerved word that the body of a Chinaman had been found hanging from a tree close to. Bonny Glen Station. On investigation it was evident the deceased had made a determined effort at suicide. He had stood.on a bunch of rushes and fixed his braces to the tree and round his neck, and after tying his wrists with a piece of flax had swung himself off. From the decomposed state of the body it Avas evident that deceased had committed the deed about two weeks ago. An inquest was held before the District Coroner (Mr J. J. Mc- Donald) yesterday afternoon. A letter found near the body, addressed to his father at Patea, stated that he felt himself a trouble to everyone and that he would kill himself.
