In a civil claim by William Butler merchant, against Sing On Tie, Chinese fruiterer, for £300 damages for injuries received by being knocked down in Courtenay Mace by a lorry owned by the defendant, a Wellington jury after a short retirement, returned a'verdict of £50 for plaintiff.
