WELLINGTON, June 30.
The Chinese immigration Act, to which the Royal assent has lieen given, provides for a severe educational test for Chinese landing in New Zealand.

WELLINGTON, Friday. The new pro-visions in the Immigration Restriction Act, imposing an English reading test on Chinese, came into force to-day. This, it is anticipated, will considerably reduce the number of Chinese arriving In the Dominion.
